Have a skillet and a craving for some Asian cuisine? You can be digging into a bowl of szechuan green beans in under 20 minutes! Szechuan Green Beans w/chicken or pork Ingredients ½ lb lean ground chicken or pork 1 teaspoon corn starch 1/8 tsp salt 1/8 tsp freshly ground pepper 1 tsp peanut oil 2 ½ cups cut green beans ½ onion, sliced 1-2 medium mushrooms, sliced ½ bell pepper, sliced ½ jalapeno, sliced 1 tsp garlic, minced 2 Tbsp Hoisin sauce 1 tsp sugar 1 tsp crushed red pepper 2 tsp low sodium soy sauce 2 cups hot cooked rice | Preparation Combine first 4 ingredients in a medium bowl. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add meat mixture, beans, onions, mushrooms, peppers and garlic. Cook 3-5 minutes or until meat is done, stirring to crumble. Combine hoisin sauce and next 3 ingredients, through soy sauce, in a small bowl, stirring with a whisk. Add hoisin mixture to pan. Cook 1-2 minutes or until thoroughly heated, stirring frequently. Serve over rice. |
